The Platu25 Hellenic Association (or Greek class) exists since 1998. Its primary scope is to make the boat known to the Greek sailing community and develop the class further. The class today has more than 500 active members. Among them champions from the Greek Olympic sailing team with great achievements at World Championships and Olympic Games. Their presence in the Platu25 class ensures the highest level of competition in the class’ races.

 

The Platu25 class is governed by a Board of 7 that is elected every 2 years. The current Board of the class is as follows.

The Greek Platu25 class acts in view of the further development of the class in Greece, draws the annual racing schedule and manages the sponsorship process. Every year the class co-organizes with HORC a charity race with the participation of Greek Olympic champions in benefit of the ‘Chamogelo tou Pediou’ (Child’s Smile) organization, with all income from the race going to the charity.

The class through its initiatives secured the hosting of the Platu 25 World Championship that took place in Heraclion Crete in September 2008. The class contributed decisively to the Championship’s undisputable success.
